  4. All the files on this disk (or in this ARC file) are text files which can be
  5. copied to the printer, read with a file viewing utility such as LIST, or loaded
  6. into a word processor or text editor.
  7.  
  8. The GUIDE.TXT file was originally written in 1984 and distributed to shareware
  9. authors in 1985 along with a survey and then rewritten with their input. It was
  10. updated again in January 1989.
  11.  
  12. The .LET files on this disk were all written in 1985 and are left on here for
  13. historical perspective.  Some of the letters refer to or reproduce parts of a
  14. survey which was sent to authors to measure the interest in a shareware authors
  15. association.  The favorable response led to a year of planning in 1986 for the
  16. first (and to date, only) Shareware Convention in 1987 which, in turn, led to
  17. the formation of the Association of Shareware Professionals.

  19. APPLIC.FRM is the official application form for membership in ASP.
  20.  
  21. BYLAWS.ASP are the bylaws of ASP.
  22.  
  23. PROBLEM.DOC is a file PSL puts on its disks as an aid to users. We have found
  24. it invaluable in getting people to clearly define their systems and problems.
  25.  
  26. FREEDISK.DOC is another file PSL puts on disks to encourage users to register,
  27.  
  28. GO.BAT is a start-up batch file that PSL puts on its disks to aid new users.
  29.
